Send a compliant e-invoice from your app (Germany)

Germany has required domestic B2B businesses to be able to receive structured e-invoices since January 2025. Issuance becomes mandatory from 2027 (large businesses) through 2028 (all businesses).

What Vantane supports today

Native XRechnung generation is not yet implemented (supported: false) — that's the CIUS German buyers and public bodies most commonly expect. We say so directly rather than shipping a document that only looks right.

The honest positive: Peppol already satisfies German receipt today

This is the one genuinely good news item across all three countries: German law accepts any EN 16931-compliant format for receipt, and Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 UBL is exactly that — it's one of the formats explicitly recognized alongside XRechnung and ZUGFeRD. Combined with the fact that Peppol delivery isn't gated by buyer country, this means: if your German buyer is reachable on Peppol, Vantane can deliver a real, compliant invoice to them today, in production — no native XRechnung generation required for that to be true. What's missing is specifically the native CIUS/ZUGFeRD output for buyers who aren't Peppol-reachable and require that exact format.
